Klasse Klima is honored to beshortlisted for the New European Bauhaus Rising Stars Award in the category „Interdisciplinary Education Models“. The New European Bauhaus (NEB) was launched in 2020 by the European Union as an initiative to mobilize the fields of art, design and architecture for the implementation of the European Green Deal.

In 2021, the EU introduced a series of awards to give visibility to groups and concepts that illustrate the three core principles of the New European Bauhaus: sustainability, inclusivity and aesthetics. In the first round of the competition, the public voted Klasse Klima into the shortlist. In the second round, an expert commission will decide the winners. The result will be revealed at an award ceremony in Brussels on September 16, 2021. A representative of Klasse Klima will attend the event and engage with other nominees over strategies for an ecological radicalization of art and design.

Klasse Klima is delighted to critically support the co-design phase of the New European Bauhaus. In this engagement, Klasse Klima’s aim is to inspire the NEB to transform into an art and design agenda promoting climate justice and structural societal change, rather than of green growth and exclusive adaptation strategies.
